The Alfresco Story
During the hot and humid summer of 1996, Sarah-Lou was enjoying retirement and volunteering at London's historic 300-year-old Chelsea Physic Garden. However, she found herself frequently troubled by insect bites. When she sought an insect repellent, she was unable to find one that was both pleasant-smelling and free from harmful chemicals. Determined to solve the issue, Sarah-Lou took matters into her own hands. She came out of retirement and partnered with a distinguished British perfume house, founded in 1730, to create Alfresco's signature formula blend that remains the foundation of the brand's success today.
Our Mission
Alfresco’s mission is to create products that are of the highest quality and as natural and safe as possible - giving you and your little ones freedom from the fear of irritating insects and chemicals! This mission has guided the development of our innovative range of anti bug bite cosmetics like natural fragrances, moisturisers & lotions: all DEET and Paraben free and made with a blend of over 20 sustainably sourced essential oils (and a generous dose of love and care!).
