Hi Sarah-Lou, I’ve been a fan of Alfresco for many years, and always take some away with me on holiday. I’m planning to go away with my sister to celebrate her 50th birthday. Can you recommend a spa someplace different and relaxing for us? She loves nature and is a real foodie. Many thanks! Ella ************* Hi Ella- It’s funny that one of the first emails I read after returning from my own holiday is about travelling. I’ve just come back from the most fabulous spa in Israel that I’ve been dying to tell everyone about, and it would be absolutely perfect for you and your sister. Nestled in the hills at the very north of Israel, Mitzpe Hayamim is an organic farm, a spa, hotel and restaurant all rolled into one. It’s near Tzfat, the birthplace of Kabbalah, which makes sense when you feel the serenity of the grounds. Animals wander around, and the milk of the goats is served up to you at breakfast and dinner as cheese and fresh milk, along with the other organic produce of the farm.
For the first time in a long time I felt safe to simply sit and enjoy my own company. There are huge plants everywhere which certainly adds to the tranquillity. High up in the hills in Israel, don’t forget your Alfresco, as there are bugs keen to get at those whose robes aren’t tied securely enough!
It’s hard coming back from such a wonderland! The question I am asking myself now is how I can try to bring Mitzpe Hayamim back into my everyday life. What changes should I be making in my life that will bring me the serenity I felt there? Something to ponder over 2017, which certainly looks set to be an interesting year! With love, Sarah-Lou
