Alfresco goes to Russia … with love
I love Moscow – and Muscovites! I’ve just had my first ever trip to Russia – and what a trip it was. I discovered all kinds of things about Moscow, including what makes Russian women glow. But more of that later…

First, a huge thank you to my charming host, Shiraz Mamedov, CEO of Laima Lux. Laima Lux are the new distributors of Alfresco in Russia. They represent a great range of luxury hair and beauty products, and I was delighted when they asked me to fly over to Moscow to talk to their sales force about Alfresco products.

The mosquito problem in Russia is terrible. I was amazed. I haven’t seen mosquitos like that for a long time. When we were eating outside in the evening, clouds of critters were buzzing around us all the time, even though we were on a terrace restaurant in the middle of the city. And when we got to the river… well, let’s just say thank goodness I had my Alfresco to hand! Over dinner on a boat moored on the river, Shiraz told me that his company wanted to represent Alfresco because it’s a natural product that smells good and repels insects, bugs & mosquitoes – all at once. I'm so grateful to the brilliant team at Laima Lux - Maya, Luba and Anna - who are spreading the news about Alfresco anti-bug products. They helped make it a perfect night to launch Alfresco in Russia. During my whistlestop tour, Laima Lux were kind enough to send me a huge shiny black limo with a great guide, Milla, to show me the sights. My favourite places were Peace Park and the Space Museum (or the Memorial Museum of Cosmonauts, to give it its full name).

I dream about getting onto one of Richard Branson’s first Virgin Galactic flights, so this was absolutely the place for me. I bought a Yuri Gagarin t-shirt and a badge of Laika, the first dog in space.

Before I sign off, there’s just time to say what it is that makes Russian women glow. It’s Russian men, of course. What can I say? They’re great thinkers, creative and exceptionally warm. I’m not at all surprised that it was a Russian man who was the first in space. I’m definitely a fan! Sarah-Lou, Alfresco CEO
