#AskAlfresco - Travelling Essentials

Was wondering what are your travelling essentials? I’m going on a long trip next month and not sure what I should definitely bring. Thanks, Katie x   Hi Katie,   I’m so glad you asked me this! I’ve been trying to compile a list for a while now so your question has forced me to actually sit down and get it done. Since I’m not sure where you’re heading to (I’m sure it’s somewhere glorious) I’ve kept this list brief and really included only the things that I take with me absolutely everywhere.

Noise cancelling headphones

Noise cancelling headphones

I decided last year to finally get some noise cancelling headphones for flights and noisy buses. I have the Sony MDR-ZX770BN (John Lewis, £99). These headphones are fantastic and very reasonably priced for their quality. I can finally have some peace and quiet on a long journey. I can’t tell you what a difference they’ve made to my commute! My only regret is that I didn’t buy them sooner.

Journal

Journal

You should definitely take a journal with you – somewhere to jot your memories and thoughts down. I always feel particularly inspired when I’m away, probably because a change of routine is so good for you, and so like to always have one on hand for any doodles or scribbles I need to get down! It will also serve as a great memento of your trip when you’re back home.

Teavana Tumbler

Teavana Tumbler

I am a total tea addict, so I always carry a tumbler with me. I just pop some loose leaf tea in the bottom, and can carry fresh and delicious tea with me wherever I go. Top tip- put tea in and fill it with hot water when you’re through security so you have tea on the plane.

A good book

I know I’m on holiday when I have the time to sit and read in the daytime! I’ve made it a tradition that wherever I go in the world, I always spend a whole morning or afternoon at some point during my trip reading. You can soak up the atmosphere of a good coffee shop and spend some time doing something purely for yourself. Perfect!

Alfresco

I never leave the house without applying Alfresco natural mosquito repellent, let alone the country!  Alfresco is guaranteed to save you from biting bugs, and as well as being a proven insect & bug repellent it also is a luxurious moisturizer and fragrance that will make you feel pampered and special.   Have a fantastic trip, Katie!   Lots of love, Sarah-Lou xxx
