I love cosmetics and make up but rarely have time to apply, doesn't mean I don't spend lots of money buying them...I just never use it. Imagine my delight when recently Adele who has a signature, cat like flick of eyeliner with her face painted porcelain white shared a video on Instagram to apologise for a cold causing her to cancel a gig in Phoenix. The Singer wasn't wearing any make up, her face had the just got up look, could this be a trend? Is Michael Ashton, her make up artist, going to go out of business? Being a
natural insect & bug repellent designer, I don't have quite the high profile that the Press subsequently dragged out the celebs with the new no make up bare face look. Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce, Cameron Diaz, Madonna, Fearne Cotton, Lily Allen and Lady Gaga are shown to be followers of this new refreshing trend. Nature is my living, without bugs there'd be no bug repellents!
Natural Bug Repellent - Alfresco
In 2002 I gave the brief to an artist of how I wanted the image of a
natural bug & mosquito repellent to be.The artist who painted the original canvas, was a young Jamaican graduate from Royal College of Art London. The group of carefree ladies were her friends, her mum is in the middle. I love this painting and think it adapts well as our little brochure. Coming soon but not quite in the same category but hmm..maybe one day, is the latest Pirelli Calendar for 2017, no longer beautiful shots of unknown beautiful busty young naked women but this years edition will be replaced by ‘women of achievement’. Peter Lindbergh, the photographer, said the images are “a love song to the women I really know and really like”. Lucky Peter! Amongst them are Dame Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, Kate Winslet, Patti Smith and Yoko Ono, Uma Thurman, Julianne Moore and Penelope Cruz as well as Charlotte Rampling and entrepreneur Anastacia Ignatova. natural fragrance for men!) and women who want natural as can be cosmetics. I like this trend for honesty and if this trend for brains more than beauty continues, i’ll have to think of a different strap line... ‘Alfresco for Beauties without Bites’ maybe just add Beauties with Brains without bites but it doesn't have the same ring!
